An osteopathy session : Ilium testing
There are three important phases:

- Testings to identify the pathologies, lesions of the horse.

- Manipulations to reduce the lesion and suppress the pain or trouble induced.

- Reeducation in order to restore the static and dynamic balance, to avoid recurrrence.

After the session, the horse must have a few days’ rest to allow him to recover and restore balance. I prefer visiting the horse in stable to avoid fatigue and stress. That’s why I can travel long distances.

An osteopathic lesion : Scapula manipulation

It ‘s a lack of mobility from one element to another which is maintained by muscle contractures. Vertebres lockings are painful dysfonctions of the vertebras segment and are mechanical and reflex. Any change in only one curve is a vertebral pathology which dammages the whole posture.

An osteopathic manipulation : Ilium testing

Is a sudden move done at the end of the articular joints with such a swiftness the horse can’t prevent it. It has nothing to do with a forced manipulation as it’s always done within the physiological limits of the joints. Therefore strength isn’t necessary even with tall animals.

It can suppress the restrictions of the body mobility, restore the functions and suppress disfonctions. The osteopath tools are his hands whithout any tool or injection. The only care are the capacity of feeling of the osteopath hands, that’s why it can’t be improvised.

It is mainly touching and appreciating the position and mobility of the spine apophyses. The ligaments and muscles near a lesion react either by toughening or by a painful contraction felt under hand. This exam tends to check if there’s a painful vertebral unit.

Testing by touching is the main part of the investigation and needs a good knowledge of every joint. An osteopath can find the presence of anything wrong such as deformation, loss of muscle, heat zone.Up

You can work in partnership with your vet osteopathy doesn’t replace the vet. Osteopathy doesn’t pretend curing every affection but is efficient in many cases. It can be useful to big and small animals as well. Horses and dogs are the animals mainly treated with it.

When call for an osteopath for dogs Forleg testing

- After a fall

- Vertebral blocking

- Hip displasy

- Sharp or chronic lameness

We can get sedation owing to a muscle balance with regular correction by an osteopath. Those sane positions once corrected aren’t definitive. If the horse doesn’t see an osteopath regularly he will progressively go back to the previous position as the vertebras elements can be disformed, degenerate or overstretched. Getting old and weight always act the painful way.

A periodical visit ensures your horse a perfect body balance and keeping fit.
